Les Miserables Toledo reviews
So So
The Friday evening show in Orlando had some good moments amid a lot of adequacy.
The singing of I Dreamed a Dream was mediocre. The group songs early on were not very crisp; the lyrics hard to hear and that made the story hard to follow. Each act was saved by great finales. While the bawdiness of the characters in the inn of the Thenardiers was expected and added to the enjoyment of the story, it did extend to vulgarity in my opinion with a couple portraying the act of copulating upstairs. I was embarrassed to have my mother-in-law along with us in witness. The story itself really salvaged the evening but having seen Phantom and Wicked in years past, Les Mis just didn't measure up to those performances.
